We’ve Moved!!!!

Well my gypsy blood wouldn’t let us stay still.  We had been in our home for two whole years when this opportunity to move into one of my parents homes arose…. and well…. we took it!  I don’t think I have ever lived in one house for longer than two years - my whole life - it was high time for a change!  We love our old house - but this house is a little bigger - better suited for toddlers - and best of all - will allow us to save up some do - re - mi for our eventual house in the country (God willing).  

So all that to say - what with Grandma’s 4th of July in the Hospital, my mom’s emergency trip out here, Jonas’ adoption, my friend from Wisconsin visiting (Thanks again for visiting Joy - it was soooooo much fun), and now our move into a new home - July has been rather eventful here in the Denton home.

Drum Roll Please!

Introducing our amazingly handsome SON!!!!!  This Thursday amid much applause (and a few happy tears) Jonas was legally made our son forever!  Here is his much awaited photo!  We love you all!  Thank you for your prayers!  I can’t help but think about how perfectly he fits into our family.  Jonas was destined for us and we were destined for him from the beginning of time.  He is our peaceful, laughing soul to counterbalance our passionate, determined, world changer.  She encourages him to try new things; he encourages her to rest and enjoy the moment. With Jonas’ Adoption legally finalized, all my hidden secret fears are quieted, and I find myself just staring at him and wavering between joyful tears and giddy laughter.   Genavieve fell asleep on Thursday singing “Today’s adoption day… Today’s adoption day…Hip hip hip hooray… hooray for adoption day!”  My sentiments exactly…..

Guess What??????

We are finalizing our adoption of Jonas!!!!!! YIPPEE K YAY!!!!!  On the 10th of July at approximately 9 am we are going before the judge, signing some papers, and legalizing our love for our son forever.  Ahhhh - adoption bliss.  The moment you can finally sigh all your worry away — the crazy, nonrational, worry whispers that wake you in the night with fear that someone will come take your heart away that is now living in another human being weighing in at 30 lbs with the wide vocabulary of “more” (as in food), “Da” (dad), and “ba” (ball- did I mention he is male?)- and gaze into your little loves eyes - knowing that another woman loved him as much as you - and because of her love - chose a new life for him - which involved you and blessed you in a way you could never express - or ever repay.  Adoption… the most amazing, life changing, picture of God’s love I have ever experienced…. and ours is soon to be final…. forever.

Went to a wedding….

And I was able to witness the marriage of my best friend of 20years…. 20 years?!?!  Wow! It was amazing.  I cried a lot - I mean A LOT!!  People kept coming up to me and asking if I was okay - and I was - just very happy and emotional.  Check out our family photos for more pics…. Big Day for Our Little Man!

Jonas officially turned one today!  We celebrated with a meatloaf and mashed potato cake in his honor (he hates sweets!).  He liked it so much he licked the plate clean!  Today Jonas also decided that walking was cool (and safe).  He has been able to walk for about a month now - but unwilling to try it for anything more than a step or two.  Today he toddled around the house after sissy and Kayden - walking into and out of rooms with reckless abandon! He has also started to speak his mind with words!  His two most common are ball (baa) and more (ma).  I guess that shows where he puts his priorities - more food - and time with a ball or two and he is a happy happy man!  We are so grateful for our little man that God has given us!  Love you all - The Denton Crash!

A Big Weekend for US!

Okay - so I know its a little graphic for most viewers - but it finally happened!  GG went “caca” in the potty all by herself!  Of course there was some pretty heavy duty bribing on our part (2 chocolate kisses if the deed was done) - but she did it!  Yay for GG - and Yay for us!  We also celebrated GG’s 2nd birthday tonight with a “caca cake” in her honor.  She said she wanted a “poopy” cake because she thinks that poop is hilarious - so if you check out our link to our family photos - you can see her “caca cake” as per her request.  She loved it!  Jonas was pretty stoked about the balloons - the new bucket - and the fact we were all singing - but he absolutely did not like cake!  I think we are going to have to make the little man a meatloaf cake with potato and gravy frosting for his birthday!  He is such a BOY!

Denton Crash 

Snow in March!!!!!

Okay - So I am a fan of Tennessee and all - but seriously???? Snow in March????  Today we had oodles and oodles of snow (not like in WI - but a lot for TN) and we took GG and Jonas outside and played!  The other big news for today is…. drumroll please…. Jonas took his first real steps yesterday and today!  Be prepared to see some video footage family!  We are proud of our little man and we are ready to boast on his twosteppin’ prowess!  Now the last time I saw snow in March was on March 12 2006 - the day we brought our sweet girl home from the hospital.  Oma built a big snow woman in the front yard - and we had an entrustment ceremony between the Reubel family and ours.  Snow in March….its a beautiful thing!
